Why we use it
A roof should work as a system—not a stack of assumptions.
We use GAF materials because they give us a clear way to talk with you about the entire roof: what each selected layer does, how the components work together, and which manufacturer warranty may apply.

Why a coordinated system matters to me
Every selected layer should have a clear job.
You deserve to see what is included, what it is intended to do, and where product or manufacturer-warranty requirements depend on a specific combination.
A coordinated system
My roof is more than the shingles I see.
GAF offers shingles and accessory categories designed to address vulnerable areas, the roof deck, roof edges, ventilation, and hips and ridges. That gives us a clear way to walk through your proposal layer by layer.
Warranty transparency
My warranty should have a name—not a vague promise.
GAF says a system using qualifying GAF Lifetime Shingles and at least three qualifying GAF accessories can qualify for GAF Roofing System Limited Warranty coverage. Eligibility and coverage remain subject to the complete warranty terms.
Eligible LayerLock-labeled shingles installed with four required qualifying accessories—starter strip shingles, roof deck protection, ridge cap shingles, plus either leak barrier or attic ventilation—may qualify for the 15-year GAF WindProven™ Limited Wind Warranty with no maximum wind-speed limitation. That warranty covers qualifying shingles—not accessories—and all terms, restrictions, and installation requirements still apply.
