Standing-seam systems use raised vertical seams and concealed attachment details selected for the panel and home. The proposal should identify the profile, material, finish, manufacturer, and attachment method.

These are planning questions, not a specification. The home, code, manufacturer instructions, and signed proposal control the final work.

    Name the panel and attachment

    The proposal should identify the profile, manufacturer, gauge or thickness, finish, and attachment method. Standing-seam and exposed-fastener roofs manage movement and fastening differently.

  2. 02

    Specify what protects below and around it

    Deck repairs, underlayment, high-temperature areas, valleys, walls, chimneys, penetrations, eaves, and rakes should be described—not left under a generic trim allowance.

  3. 03

    Plan for airflow and ownership

    Confirm ventilation and condensation assumptions, maintenance needs, exposed sealants or fasteners, noise expectations, cleanup, workmanship coverage, and the written manufacturer warranty.
